A BIRTHDAY TO REMEMBER

Chief Tolu F. Daniel woke up hale and hearty on a beautiful day, singing praises to God. His phone began to ring, his friend called congratulating him on his eightieth birthday. His wife and others had gone to the market with the driver to buy things for the party, leaving him alone at home. While he lay on the sofa planning ahead for the party then he had visitors, six hefty boys came in, each in a three-piece suit. They came wearing friendly looks which attracted him. He jumped off the sofa and gave them a very warm reception. He offer them seats. They congratulated him on the occasion. He served them all with wonderful meal and drinks.
After the meal, one of them said loudly “Time for business” he seem to be their leader. He cleared his throat and said, “Chief we heard of your birthday party and we have come to rejoice with you and take our share.” The Leader then said “So quietly go in bring out all the money and the clothes for today’s occasion.”

At first Chief Tolu was confused, trying to understand what was going on in his room. In this state of confusion he was brought back to life with a gun short in the air, three times then he notice that the young men with him meant business. They hit him to the ground and search his house, every corner of his house and took all his money. None of his friends were around to help him, the hefty boys took their time in searching because nobody was there to help, and they took all his gold and left the house with everything he had, it was too late to raise alarm. This ruined his day tremendously, his plans and the occasion.
